Gluten-Free Pumpkin Bread
Gluten-free pumpkin bread is easy enough to make. You can use your favorite pumpkin bread recipe and simply substitute ordinary wheat flour for a gluten-free alternative. Almond and coconut flours are popular choices and, of course, brown rice flour has been a gluten-free staple since the dawn of gluten-free baking.
Try this artful recipe for a delicious and easy gluten-free pumpkin bread:
- 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup regular cane sugar
- 1 15oz. can of pumpkin
- 2 cups almond flour
- 2 tsp xanthan gum
- 2 eggs at room temperature
- 1.5 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 tsp salt
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees.
Mix your sugar and butter until smooth and well-blended. Then, add the remainder of the wet ingredients and blend thoroughly. Follow with the seasonings, xanthan gum, and baking soda. Add the flour in last, but do not over-blend.
Grease a loaf pan with butter and bake your mix for roughly one hour, possibly ten to fifteen minutes longer. The top of your bread should be golden brown.
A Healthful Substitute
You can improve the health factor of your pumpkin bread by substituting grapeseed oi for butter. Grapeseed oil contains important omega 6 and 9 fatty acids and absolutely no cholesterol. Moreover, grapeseed oil will yield a similar consistency as butter in your baked goods.
Make it Organic
For a particularly tasty bread, purchasing organic canned pumpkin can add a burst of fresh pumpkin flavor. Many organic fruits and vegetables tend to possess richer flavors than their conventionally-grown counterparts. Try using only organic ingredients in your pumpkin bread and see if you can taste the difference.
A Seasonal Treat
There's no question that pumpkin bread is a perfect autumn treat. Whereas banana bread can be enjoyed year round, this bread is best enjoyed throughout the fall season. Once you get the hang of baking gluten-free pumpkin bread, you can gift it for friends or keep a steady house supply for hungry children and guests. It's also a great addition to your Thanksgiving table!
